90 × 90 × 4 cm, Oil on Stretched Canvas
I was painting this when a friend was visiting. They said that's a lot of sky, and I said oh don't worry, there will be fish, at which point we both laughed. So there are. In all seriousness, this is a painting about the environment and how we are busy asking so many other species to leave our planet.
It's a statement piece and a conversation piece. I don't mean to be gloomy, I mean to be part of the cacophony of voices saying hey, we need to look after our planet a lot better than we have been. Every tiny thing counts, from picking up rubbish on your walk to adding your voice to resist our native forests being chopped down, or our seas being swamped by those hideous trawlers. We just don't need to be so greedy.
The edges are painted in white gesso (traditional)
Unframed
Can be removed from stretcher bars and mailed in a tube (saves $$$ on shipping!).
