Works On Paper
Works
Work On Paper, whether it is a drawing or painting, can be a great way to buy art. It is less expensive because the materials cost less, and it is easy to send in a tube. You frame it in a frame of your choice.
Shelfie is a large watercolour painting on yupo, a synthetic type of “paper”.
Size: 94 W x 64 H
My pottery shelf is forever changing and it makes for an instant natural still life set up. I like to pursue different ways to integrate my paintings with my ceramics, and vice versa, so this seems like a natural thing to do. There's always a dog of course, making it slightly surreal. You could frame this painting as is, or divide it into two. I like it as is though. A Diptych of sorts. I have shown how it might look in a frame.
It is sold unframed and will be mailed in a tube.
Oil Paint on Arches Paper, 28.5 (W) × 38 (H)
Requires framing
More mystical dog like animals wandering through the woods. This one is a bit of a ghosty dog.
The painting is on heavy watercolour paper with a gesso ground to ensure it can take the oil (no seeping through). It has bevelled edge. I've kept this and it's partner, Dog on the Horizon, deliberately loose and slightly sketchy. The trees are mono printed onto the paper which renders the most beautiful effect - look closely!
It requires framing and I've included some styled shots in different frames and mats to give you some ideas.
Watercolour and Ink on Yupo 30 × 42 cm unframed
This little painting is one of a series of playing with using watercolour on yupo, a tough but smooth plasticised “paper” . In my ceramics practice I often use mono printing, and wanted to take it into my painting. The trees are painted with thick watercolour (yep, it’s unusual ) and pressed onto the yupo. As you pull it away, it leaves some wonderful marks. I painted the rest in ink and watercolour, and sealed it with a varnish.
I’ll mail it in a tube.
Acrylic and Watercolour on Yupo (a tough smooth synthetic paper)
94 cm (W) x 64 cm (H) Requires Framing
I'm a potter and I love to use my own pots as still life props. This work is a surreal interpretation of a collection of them tumbling here and there. All fired.
This work will warm up any space ..
